Background: This inn dates back to 1655 and was built as a coaching inn. Visitors include a highwayman who used to take refuge here with his horse until a gate was put across the staircase to stop him. This is a woman called Emma's story.>

Ghost story: I loved my husband but that wasn't enough. Nothing I did or said could stop him believing I was having an affair. He thought I was being unfaithful with a highwayman. His jealousy engulfed him and he murdered me. I still visit this inn, you might see me on the staircase or in a room on the first floor. I am the White Lady.
